Going on to the 2nd Monday of the year, bitcoin prices fell from a record high of 41000 USD to near 30000 USD in a 27% crash. The price has recovered by about 16% at the time of writing.
While there is no specific reason for the crash, analysts have pointed out to profit taking as the main contributor. Many believe the 30000 USD mark is a strong support for bitcoin.
